Diversity Club wants to hear from you!

Dear UHE Families,

Please find in your email a letter and website link from our Diversity Club.  In the letter, they wrote:

“Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are very fortunate at University Highlands to have a school community rich in diversity. There is so much to gain when we embrace the complexity of our school community and are able to better nurture a safe and supportive environment for everyone. We believe that when we shine a light on the variety of backgrounds and experiences our students bring to University Highlands, we all benefit.

Our teachers and staff are always looking for ways to support and celebrate our diverse student population. Representation is vital to emotional well-being, building empathy and even improving critical-thinking skills. In addition to recognizing and learning about different cultural celebrations and observances, we are considering ways to support students at school during these special times. For example, last year our school library was made available for students fasting during Ramadan.

If you have any thoughts about how we could expand what we are currently doing, or have knowledge or skills to offer, we would love to hear from you. We value parents as partners and look to you as we continue building a caring, inclusive, and safe school for everyone.”

We invite you to share your thoughts by clicking on the link that was attached to email.  Thank you for taking the time to do this!
